Amish Furniture Innovation for the Modern World

This is a really interesting piece in our Amish Gallery.  It’s a vanishing TV stand.  When you have company over you can push a button and your television disappears

I think it’s somewhat ironic that my picture picked up the view of the old style lanterns on the video we play in the department.  While the Amish use traditional values in their craftsmanship they certainly aren’t afraid to offer the customer what they want in today’s modern world. 

Our Amish Gallery is so far only available in Grand Forks North Dakota.  But we do offer delivery to our branches as well as 100 miles from town.

Honda Power Equipment Full Line Dealer

Home of Economy has recently become full line dealer for Honda Power Equipment.  Here’s a picture of some of the generators.

We have carried generators in our stores in Williston, Jamestown, Devils Lake and Grafton.  We’ve done quit well with them, but now that we’ve added them into our Grand Forks and Minot stores you can get them across the state of North Dakota.

We’re very excited about this opportunity to sell another premium product.

It’s the Cabin Fever Flyer

We’ve got our current flyer out.  I hope we have the product that you need.

The front page focus is on the Carhartt FR clothing.  That’s really big in our stores in Williston and Minot North Dakota.  We also stock it in Grand Forks and have a smaller selection in the other stores. 

Also prominently features is our Science Diet which is doing very well for us. 

Page two has more Carhartt, go figure.  What can we say, we’re proud of what we have.  Our Carhartt Jean business is doing very well.  Belwo that we have boots from Carhartt, Wolverine and Justin.

Page 3 has product from Dickies.  This is a great line as well, but a bit lower end than the Carhartt.  It’s got a following and if that’s the price point you want we have it.  We also have a nice trailering section.  It’s a bit early to sell this stuff, but it’s never too late to get people thinking.  We do a great job in the trailering business.

Page 4and five is bringing us back to our roots.  We have a pretty good ranching following. 

Page six is dominated by Dewalt Power tools.  Over the last few years we’ve had 300% growth in the Dewalt line by going big.  I think this ad is going to help us go further.

We’ve also got some pumps in the flyer.  This is a bit early, but if you think you need a sump pump we have a great great preseason deal for you.  That half horse Wayne sump pump is only going to be available at that price for a limited time.

Page 7 has some toys and household items.  They aren’t real exciting but we need to keep our position in the customers mind as the place to go for that.  That portable Weber gas grill is a great seller and with so many people coming here from out of state to work out west it should sell very well, even at this time of the year.

Finally we have our page 8 which is almost always tires, batteries and automotive.  We’re working hard to bring our customers to the Cooper brand.  It’s a good tire for the price, but it’s not the brand we built up over the years.

Come Meet the Amish Craftsmen That Make our Great Furniture

In the last couple of years we’ve become the biggest furniture account for Country View Furniture.  That’s impressed the factory owners/craftsmen because they are coming up here today and tomorrow to see how we do it.

I think we do OK, but to give credit where credit is due, the reason we do so well with the Amish furniture is because it is made so well. 

We have three people most responsible here today and tomorrow that are going to be in store to meet with you.  If you’ve got ideas how you’d like some of their furniture to be custom made to your needs you can come in and talk to them about it. 

I’m just excited they will be here because they really are great people to get to know.
