Check Out Our Booth at the Minot Hostfest.

So we’ve got an huge booth at the Minot Hostfest booth again.  Hostfest is the largest Scandinavian festival in the United States and it’s going on right now in one of our home cities.

We consider Lefse and other traditional Scandinavian foods to be a category that we lead in.  We offer the Guarenteed Lowest Price on everything you need to get started up making Lefse.  While it’s great anytime, it’s so much better when it’s still warm from the grill.

One thing we do at Hostfest is offer our low everyday retail price at the show.  That way a person can buy at the show at the same low price that they can at any of our stores.  One advantage of that is that a person can pick up what they need on their way out of town at the store rather than lug all of their purchases around the Hostfest show and parking lot.

Big Brown Bag Sale

The Big Brown Bag Sale is up and going.  If you’ve had your eye on something small enough to fit into one of our large bags then nows the time. 

This discount applies to regular priced items only.  We are excluding very few items so more than likely this is the time to buy.

Fall Harvest TV AD

Here’s our latest television ad.  A lot of our farm business isn’t the hard goods that it used to be like tractor parts or cultivator shovels.  A lot of it is those supply items that every farm shop needs.  This ad acknowledges that with hydraulic oil, batteries, DeWalt chop saw and fuel transfer pumps.

Those are four great areas for us.  I like to talk about focusing on “front page items.”  Our computer system’s reporting screen holds 18 lines.  When I look at the top 18 vendors we have all of those items show up.  And we’re doing terrific with all of those vendors.  If you want a sales increase it’s best to focus on your top vendors and do a better job with them.  If you can improve your business there you get a lot more sales increase for your effort than worrying about what might be done the list.

Labor Day TV Ad

That’s our TV ad for the Labor Day sale.  I posted the flyer a couple minutes ago. 

If you notice we’ve been making a big deal about our Amish furniture.  That’s because even though we’ve only feature Authentic Amish furniture for a couple years, it’s become the largest line, by far in our department.  We’ve got a great relationship with the folks in Holmes County Ohio that make it for us.  They’ve been here, we’ve been there.  We’ve got a great thing going here.

Labor Day Clothing Sale

Not only do we have a great furniture sale for Labor Day in our Grand Forks store.  We also have a great clothing sale at all of our branches.  20% off of all clothing is one of our best sales of the year.  You can save 20% off our everyday low price on your Carhartt jacket and bibs for this winter.  It’s been a very cold summer.  What’s the chance we’re going to have a harsh winter?

We also have a lot of people pick up a new pair of work boots for harvest. 

This ad is specifically for the Grand Forks branch.  But we’ve got he same deal going at our stores in Grafton, Devils Lake, Minot, Williston and Jamestown. 

Labor Day Furniture Sales

This weekend is one of the biggest furniture sales of the year.  It’s only good for three days.  Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day. 

This is one sale weekend that we were out in the lead on.  We’ve been doing this for years.  Now it seems that every retailer has their own Labor Day sale.
